Not every Utah boudoir photographer starts a session with their client in lace and bathed in candlelight. Sometimes, it starts with a borrowed motorcycle, a freezing garage, a well-placed lie, and a little bit of mischief.
This was Kylie’s first-ever boudoir shoot, and she wanted it to be something special — a surprise for her husband. She wasn’t totally sure what direction to take, but after a few quick text convos and getting to know a bit about their life together, one thing was crystal clear: the guy’s two greatest obsessions are Kylie… and his motorcycle.
That was the spark. We had the concept — now we just had to figure out how to pull it off without blowing the surprise.

With the concept firmly planted in our minds, we suddenly had ourselves a little problem: how do we get the bike to the shoot when he’s the only one who rides it?
The answer? A harmless little cover story. We teamed up with the crew at Lancer Garage and told him the bike needed some “custom work.” Totally believable. He dropped it off, the shop owner backed the story without missing a beat — and when he started asking questions, Kylie just shrugged and said, “It’s Christmas. You can’t ask questions.”
The next day, we had the garage to ourselves. One borrowed motorcycle, one badass location — game on.
Kylie showed up nervous — totally expected for a first session — but she was sure of one thing: this was the right gift. Our job? Help her feel that.
Once we got going, the shift was instant. She started loving the way she looked and felt in every frame. The confidence kicked in, the nerves faded — and honestly, by the end of it, we were all wondering… who was really getting the gift here?

To sell the hot, sweaty shop vibe, we slicked her skin with oil, spritzed her with water, and pulled her hair up into a messy bun — like she’d been wrenching on that bike herself. We cranked the music, let the beat set the tone, and bathed the space in warm light that made it all feel steamy and alive (even though the garage was ice cold).

This wasn’t about being polished or posed. It was about being in the moment — letting the mess, the sweat, and the energy take over. One of our favorite parts of any shoot is that shift — when she stops seeing herself as just a “regular woman” and starts feeling like she was meant to be in front of the camera. The flattery starts to land, the sneak peeks light her up, and suddenly it’s, “Wait… yeah, I’m sexy.”
She started dancing between frames, laughing, and having fun — and the more she relaxed, the more that energy came through, and the sexier the shots became.

Some of the most powerful images came out of that headspace. Simple setups — a bare floor, warm light, and a woman who had totally stepped out of her comfort zone and into something unforgettable. No overthinking or trying to look “perfect”.
And through it all, one thought kept floating around the room: he’s going to lose his mind when he sees these.
Spoiler alert: he did.

As a creatively driven Utah boudoir photographer and studio we live for this kind of session — the kind that flip the script and throw out the rulebook. Boudoir doesn’t have to be soft, slow, or wrapped in lace. It can be dirty. Gritty. Loud. Dripping with attitude. And best of all — it can be exactly what you want it to be.
